Virgin oil of intense green and rich in secondary aromas that remind of the olive tree leaves and some vegetables like the artichoke. On the palate the dominating sensations are hot, bitter and astringent, although a sweet nuance remains, allowing a certain sensory balance.
This is a greek variety, sensitive to seudonomas savastanoi, vigorous and very productive. Pruning is a bit more difficult than that of Arbequina and Arbosana but mechanical harvesting is still possible in high density plantations. Koroneiki produces an oil which offers a high stability for any coupage with the rest of varieties conceived for superintensiv cultives
